I started soaring a couple years ago, figuring it would sharpen my regular flying skills. I figured, too, that eventually, ALL of us
will become glider pilots. So I chose to learn in a somewhat thermal-worthy 2-33, instead of a very unfriendly glider called a Cessna. Well, as expected, I learned a lot!
I joined the GBSC (Greater Boston Soaring Club), and doubled as a tow pilot in the L-19 BirdDog and Pawnee. It didnt take long to find out
that the club needed towpilots more than they needed memebers to eat up time in the ships. Soon I was pulling (literally) 7 hours days towing. In this time I managed to fly the 2-33,
the 1-34, and the L-23. Here are some shots of that flying! Oh - I've included a couple shots of some soaring at Lake Tahoe, NV...
